I have successfully tutored dozens of students towards the QTS Numeracy Skills test. Some students need little more than someone with experience to reassure them that they're ready, however many students come having already failed the test twice. It's one of the most rewarding aspects of my work to see students achieve the required levels of numeracy to pursue their chosen career path.

You may find the resources below helpful in preparing you for the test:

• Maths Trainer Express - Increase your fluency with timed mental arithmetic exercises.
  
  Learning your times tables up to 10 x 10 is a great starting point for QTS Numeracy Skills students. The trainer remembers the tables you get wrong, and focuses more on those ones over time, and less on the ones you answer correctly. I've only allowed four seconds to answer each question, so students are forced to _remember_ the answers, rather than calculate them.
  
  


• Gareth Lewis Maths Tuition YouTube Channel - To get a flavour of the sort of questions you might be asked, join the tens of thousands of people who've tried the Mental Arithmetic Practice Tests on my YouTube channel.
  
  The feedback I've had is that the tests are harder than the real tests, but still useful revision.


• Numeracy Ready - Numeracy Ready charges a fee (£20 last time I checked) for a set of practice tests. I have no connection to them except that a number of my students have found their tests useful.


• The official tests - use the official tests from the Department of Education (you'll need a login) once you've already done some preparation. There's no point wasting them too early on.
